Poetry

I don't have much poetry, but I'll post a couple for your enjoyment.

I'm not your typical...
I'm not your typical girl next door. I'm not what you think at all.
I am merely a wife, a mother, a lover, and a friend.
I am a child trapped in the body of a woman
Who struggles to stand apart from the norm.
Though words spill from my hands like rain from a cloud.
Darkness looms ready in the soul beneath my flesh.
After years of abuse, neglectful words and sorrow.
It's a surprise I didn't end this life a long time ago.
Yet here I sit with my fingers at the ready,
To share with the world all that I wish to offer it.
Fantasies of a psychotic mixed with the love of a poet,
Songs from a writer who's only instrument is her voice,
Stories from another life that fill pages of a fictional world.
And through thick and thin somehow I still survive
To write these words that help free my mind.
And what my heart can not bear, I bury away inside,
until it festers demonically into the words on a page.
These things keep me separated from a world of normalcy.
They make me the person that stands before you today.
So once again, just let me remind you as I stand to leave.
I'm not your typical girl next door. I'm not what you think at all.

The next two are lyrics I wrote:
TITLE: No Redemption
DATE: 06/23/02

Never more will I sleep,
Deep in the dead of night.
Inside I am so weak,
By the dreams' insight.
I see you and I weep.
Crushed in black light.

(Chorus)
There's no redemption, no one can save my soul.
Never want redemption, fall into a black hole.
I need not redemption, from your magical hold.

Walk down the darkened street,
Fearing the coming of dawn.
Silence moves beneath my feet,
A victim sits across the pond.
His flesh is such tender meat,
A soul which to feed upon.

(Chorus)

The quiet night engulfs me,
Comforts my aching hear.
There's nothing left to see,
Precious soul is torn apart.
Never again will I be free,
From the night's sanctity.

(Chorus)

TITLE: Silver Tongue Devil
DATE: 06/27/02

I didn't expect him,
To waltz into the room.
Amorous look on his face,
Dark entrancing eyes,
Bend me to his every whim.
Scent of masculine perfume,
Inhibit it's embrace.
My heart's immobilized.

(Chorus)
Beware of things he will say,
He's the silver tongue devil.
With words he can play,
sweet Silver tongue devil.
Toys with the heart & soul.
Your voice makes me whole.
Sweet, sweet, sweet,
silver tongue devil.

It must have been fate.
He held me in his grip.
One glare, myself I forget.
Rush of wild adreniline.
His kisses are passionate.
Delving through my lips,
Touch as soft as velvet.
Gently caressing my skin.

(Chorus)
Do we share kindred blood,
Flowing madly in our viens.
Or just a strange lust,
We must somehow fulfill?
It's silent and understood.
He's seductive & arcane.
Provocative like a musk
I reeling from the thrill.

(Chorus)
